School Council Members Raise Concerns Regarding Full Day Kindergarten Classes at the Board
On Thursday, December 19, 2011 our School Council went as a delegation to the School Board. They went to raise concerns about the number of children in the Full Day Kindergarten classes at Our Lady of Lourdes. The Ministry of Education has stated that Kindergarten class sizes would be at 26 students per class. Our Lady of Lourdes currently has 30 children in each of the Full Day Kindergarten classes. The School Council asked that the Board consider adding another Full Day Kindergarten classroom to help alleviate the numbers and to possibly review the school boundaries. Council’s presentation was received by the Board. The Board said that they would look into the concerns at Our Lady of Lourdes School and will contact the School Council in February, 2012 with their findings.
